Make It Mondays ... Inspirations

Hello! Hi! Howdy!

I wanted to post our pantry we made but we are still making it since we started very late in the day and couldn't get it finished. Hopefully it will be done for Monday, September 10th posting, since Monday, September 3rd is Labor Day there won't be a new posting or there will be something small. So with that said I gathered up some crafty projects I want to make to inspire everyone and myself! Hehehe

This is SUCH a cute idea! I might make it with buttons or get those cake decorating balloons and use those instead of the buttons!
Thank you Sweet Shoppe Community for the idea!

I've been seeing a lot of printing on wax paper then you are suppose to be able to transfer it to pretty much anything! I want to try them all out!

Onto fabrics?!!

Onto wood?!!

Onto metal?!!

I also keep seeing all these people making their own nail polish with eye shadow and clear nail polish! I would love to try this out!

And lastly for today I want to make this of all the places my husband and I have traveled to together and put it out in our hammock corner in our backyard! Cute and fun! I think the lady that did this, did it for a "beach party" but most things I find that I want to do I end up changing up and doing it different.

Hopefully you feel inspired to go make something now!
Come on back tomorrow for Tasty Tuesdays!!!

Tips & Tricks Thursdays ... Germs and Sickness

Follow Me on Pinterest

Since schools are all starting back up ...we all know what that means ... Germs and sicknesses ... Here's some tips and tricks to hopefully help out!
Smart idea for by the bed during cold season - tissue box & trash can in one! Might also be a good idea for in your car if you blow your nose a lot.

Coconut Oil Is:
  • Anti-bacterial (kills bacteria that cause ulcers, throat infections, urinary tract infections, gum diseases, and other bacterial infections)
  • Anti-carcinogenic (coconut oil has antimicrobial properties so it effectively prevents the spread of cancer cells and enhances the immune system)
  • Anti-fungal (kills fungi and yeast that lead to infection)
  • Anti-inflammatory (appears to have a direct effect in suppressing inflammation and repairing tissue, and it may also contribute by inhibiting harmful intestinal microorganisms that cause chronic inflammation.)
  • Anti-microbial/Infection Fighting (the medium-chain fatty acids and monoglycerides found in coconut oil are the same as those in human mother's milk, and they have extraordinary antimicrobial properties. By disrupting the lipid structures of microbes, they inactivate them. About half of coconut oil consists of lauric acid. Lauric acid, its metabolite monolaurin and other fatty acids in coconut oil are known to protect against infection from bacteria, viruses, yeast, fungi and parasites. While not having any negative effect on beneficial gut bacteria, coconut oil inactivates undesirable microbes.)
  • An Antioxidant (protects against free-radical formation and damage)
  • Anti-parasitic (fights to rid the body of tapeworms, lice and other parasites)
  • Anti-protozoa (kills giardia, a common protozoan infection of the gut)
  • Anti-retroviral (kills HIV and HLTV-1)
  • Anti-viral (kills viruses that cause influenza, herpes, measles, hepatitis C, SARS, AIDS, and other viruses)
  • Infection fighting
  • Has no harmful for discomforting side effects
  • Known to improve nutrient absorption (easily digestible; makes vitamins and minerals more available to the body)
  • Nontoxic to humans and animals
160 uses for Coconut!

Eat three or four marshmallows to sooth a sore throat. The gelatin is very helpful when it comes to relieving irritation and soothing pain in your throat. I really have done this and did this and it did seem to help make my sore throat feel better!

And the last thing today is the Stomach Bug Preventative ... I found this here ... http://grannysuesnews.blogspot.com/2009/01/how-to-stop-stomach-flu-dead-in-its.html and I will try this out! Once someone you are around a lot gets the stomach flu/bug ... you need to drink a glass of grape juice 3-4 times a day for a few days. It apparently is a preventative that seems to work. I've seen a few others blog about how this seems to work and I love grape juice so it's worth a shot!

Come back tomorrow for Furry Fridays!!!!

Make It Mondays ... Modify Your Fave T-shirt

Hello everyone! Hope your weekend was fantastic!
Today I am going to show you how I modified up a T-shirt that I love but wanted a bit more fun to it!

Step 1: Get a T-shirt ... I got mine from
 http://www.viasava.com/store/
Step 2: Lay out the T-shirt and think about what you want to to do to it? Maybe even sketch a little idea up.

Now this is just what I did ... I am sure there are many other ideas and ways to modify up a T-shirt.
I decided I wanted it to be sleeveless, with scrunched up shoulders and a zipper down the back.
So I got some supplies and went to work...
I used black thread, some needles and pins and a black heavy duty 22" zipper. I used elastic in the shoulders at first but decided I didn't like that and took it out.

I wanted the shirt to be a few inches shorter so I turned the shirt inside out and just cut a few inches off the bottom of the shirt. I also cut the sleeves off right passed the arm hole hems, leaving the hem in.

I folded the shoulders up like an accordion fan and just sewed through all the layers while the shirt was inside out. Thank you, person who invented the thimble! This is the shoulder top sewn up and turned right side out.

Here's what it looked like with the sewn shoulders and bottom trimmed up.

Then I cut at straight line up the back, pinned the zipper pieces on the inside of the shirt and hand sewed them onto the shirt. My sewing machine was being a jerk so this is why I hand sewed everything, but it didn't take too long. I also cut a little slit on the front neck line.

I zipped this bad boy up and put it on and went out on the town!

Here's the back ...

Here's the front ...

And if you don't want to make your own shirt, check out RCB Fashion's etsy site ... she makes some really cool modified up shirts!

Silly Sundays ... More Silly & Fun Products/Items

Here are some more products and items I've come across that might seem or look silly but really I think they are great!

The Portable Highchair ... a little steep in price at $67.99 but parents would probably get a lot of use out of this!

Sir Thing Ring ... This is so cute and funny to me! It looks to be $19.99 ... I might need to purchase this!

Sometimes I don't want to wear full blown slippers because they make me too hot. These would be perfect! $11.99 is not bad at all.

This is just so fun! I want this doorknob as the door to my art room! It looks like they are on ebay ... so the prices are all different. I saw 1 for $7.50 and another of the same thing for $50.00.

And I shall end it with The Crazy Cat Lady Board Game!
 I want this! $19.50

I don't know about you but I actually do want all of this stuff! Hehehe! It's is fun!
*~Hope you come back tomorrow for Make It Mondays~*
